<p>I recently got a package full of beautiful things from Norwegian designer <a href="http://www.ceciliemelli.com">Cecilie Melli</a>, thank you! This bow and these earrings were some of my favourites. You can’t really see it in these photos but the rhinestones are really really sparkly, especially on the bow. There are many more beautiful things on <a href="http://www.ceciliemelli.com">their site</a> as well.</p>
<p>Please excuse my horrible roots, I’m holding off on bleaching them until I go on my Disney World vacation in a couple of weeks.</p>

<p>I made a cruise ship set for photographing Barbies. It’s so dark outside nowadays that the photos didn’t turn out as good as they should have, but I wanted to take some photos of Holly with her new hairdo.</p>

<p>I was Lota from <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0024188"><em>Island of Lost Souls</em></a>, which is a really great movie that I discovered by chance because of Lota’s beautiful face. </p>
<p>I was probably about 17 and I was browsing a VHS sale where I could just afford three tapes. I found one with the old <em>Addams Family</em> TV series, <em>Metropolis</em>, <em>Nosferatu</em> and this other movie, <em>Island of Lost Souls</em>, that I’d never heard of but the girl on the cover was so extremely gorgeous. I was trying to choose between <em>Nosferatu</em> and <em>Island of Lost Souls</em> for a long time and finally figured I’d get the unknown movie since I’d already seen <em>Nosferatu</em> and it’s a well known movie that probably wasn’t going to be hard to find some other time.</p>
<p>When I got home and watched it I realised it was a version of <em>The Island of Dr. Moreau</em>. I was already a fan of the one with Val Kilmer and Marlon Brando and I liked this version even better. I have yet to read the book but I’m sure I’ll love it. I remember doing my makeup like Lota and being disappointed that it didn’t make me look like her since my face has a completely different shape than hers, which was still the case when I dressed up like her today, but anyway, here are some photos!</p>

<p>I cut and styled the wig, dyed and printed the fabric to look like the one Lota wears, made the necklace beads with clay and made the claws from a set of regular fake nails.</p>

<p>Yesterday was my birthday, I’m now 26! Here are some pictures of what I wore.</p>

<p>In the pictures I’m wearing this lipstick I got for free from some promotion thing in Elle magazine. It was the first time I picked up a fashion magazine in ages and it happened to contain a coupon for a free lipstick :) Anyway, I was surprised that it was actually a really great shade (you could pick from about five) because I’m really picky about my red lipsticks. It also smells like candy. It’s “Maybelline color sensational” in Fatal Red.</p>

<p>My fancy nylon stockings get snags where the skirt hem rubs against them when I walk, even though I always wear slips under my tight skirts (though I guess they sometime ride up a bit under the skirt). <p>A little while ago another beautiful package from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=79112">Vinny and Vernelle</a> arrived. Really the packaging is so beautiful that you hardly want to open it. It contained a great little hat to model. </p>
